This is disgusting, a right-wing politician here in Canada used the attack in Berlin to scrounge for donations and score political points... and try to resurrect the controversial anti-terrorism bill (that I got arrested and beaten by a cop for protesting) and the surveillance of citizens.

I have noticed this for a while, that right-wingers get giddy whenever there is a terrorist attack. The pretend to be outraged, sure, but deep down they really like it.
Blaney fundraises off Berlin terrorism attack
Former public safety minister cites need to defend C-51 in soliciting $51 donations
Conservative leadership candidate Steven Blaney is leveraging the uneasy confluence of the festive season and terrorism to raise money for his campaign.
On Tuesday, the day after a truck ploughed into a crowd at a Christmas market in Berlin, killing 12 people, Blaney sent out a solicitation for donations.
“Christmas is a time for peace and joy, not terrorism,” begins the fundraising email.
“Unfortunately, yesterday, a quiet Christmas market in Berlin turned into tragedy, again. We’ve seen that movie before in Canada.”
Blaney cited last year’s terrorism-linked attacks in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Parliament Hill, which claimed the lives of Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent and Corporal Nathan Cirillo.
“As Public Safety Minister, I introduced C-51 in January 2015, our antiterrorism law, to better prevent those terrorist attacks,” Blaney writes, adding that the controversial law “helped” law enforcement confront terror threats.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberals, he said, “want to dodge C-51.
“The first goal of government is to keep Canadians safe. What took place yesterday in Berlin is a stark reminder that the threat is real, and that we need to remain vigilant.”
Blaney asks supporters to donate $51 “to prevent Justin Trudeau’s Liberals to scrap tools we have to keep Canadians safe.
“Because we need to do everything in our capacity to keep Christmas a season of peace and joy, and Canada a land of freedom and opportunities.”
