Had to post a thread about this, as a warning to Americans.
Former Canadian PM Stephen Harper is in Washington. He did this without notifying the current Canadian government, a breach of convention. Other former PMs who have visited Washington have notified, and have tried to help deal with the Trump admin.

People have been speculating that he went down to help the Trump admin, and talk some sense into The Donald.
I am not so sure. Others have speculated more nefarious purposes.
He is not the "sensible leader" that he is being marketed as. While in office he:
- Ordered regular reporting to the public of crimes committed by Muslims
- Stifled free speech
- Had Canadian citizens arrested and detained without charge
- Implemented a de-facto Muslim ban in Canada
- Not only had children of immigrants separated from their parents, but put the children in solitary confinement
- Proposed a snitch line for "barbaric cultural practices"
- Had libraries, science labs, and even archaeological sites destroyed
- Had the income tax returns of vocal left-wing individuals audited
- Passed an "income splitting" law that encouraged men to have their wives stay at home so they could get tax breaks, while simultaneously raising taxes on the tax bracket that many single mothers find themselves in
- Cut funding to women's groups
- Practiced voter suppression which landed some of his own staffers in jail
Out of office, he has:
- Praised Trump for pulling out of the Iran deal and moving the embassy to Jerusalem
- Praised Viktor Orban
- Met with Iranian terrorists
Stephen Harper, and the damage he did to Canada while he was PM is an example of what Donald Trump *could* do to the United States if he was actually intelligent. He was Trump before Trump, and is intelligent on top of it. I would choose Trump over Harper any day of the week. Don't trust this man.
