The idea that the ancient Egyptians origins lay somewhere in the Mediterranean seems to have first originated in 19th century, some of the earliest theories proposed suggested they were of Asian origin(in the geographical sense), but there has always been an insufficient amount of evidence supporting these ideas.
Anthropologist C.G.Seligman asserted that ancient Egyptians ancestors did originate from the Mediterranean, but their settlement in Egypt dates back to the late Neolithic. In spite of what scientific experts are purporting today about the ancient Egyptians origins being West Eurasian, this conclusion doesn't correlate with other anthropological evidence, such as cultural and linguistic.
I was recently banned from AnthroScape for disputing the West Eurasian origin of the ancient Egyptians. I hope to have an exchange on this site with people who are less bias.
