They cannot do it overtly anymore, so they have to sneak it.
Voter ID laws: Mainly affect minorites, the poor, and young people
In Canada, the voter ID laws passed by the Harper govenment had another twist: in addition to ID, you had to present proof of the address on your ID, like a bill or something. With married couples, the bills are often in the husband's name, so this made it harder for women to vote (although he must have forgot, most Canadian have their own cell phones).
In Alabama, which had voter ID laws, they closed down the Department of Motor Vehicles offices in counties with majority black populations, making it harder to get the IDs required to vote.
Again in Canada during the 2015 election, polling stations in predominantly non-white neighbourhoods ran out of ballots.
In the US, closing polling stations in non-white areas
Eliminating early voting, particularly on Sundays. African Americans more than any group votes at the early polls on Sunday (Souls to the Polls initiative by black churches)
Not about voting:
In Canada, income splitting. Passed by the Harper government. If you are married and make more money than your partner, you can "split" your income with them and then both are in a lower tax bracket. Basically a tax incentive if you're a man who keeps your wife in the kitchen.
"American Laws of American Courts". In 31 US states. Pretty much makes Muslim marriages, divorces, and wills invalid because they are under Sharia, which is banned by these laws.
Banning of halal and kosher slaughter masked as animal rights laws. They are meant to attack Muslims, and European countries have been passing them with zeal since the refugee crisis. In Canada, a similar law was attempted to be passed but was blocked by the PM (which he got a lot of flack from animal rights people for, but there were racist undertones to the law they didn't see).
Mandating the serving of pork in public food kitchens in Europe. Meant to target Muslims, particularly refugees. Make it impossible for them to settle there.
Probably a lot more.
The white right is getting aggressive and sneaky. Most of these laws have been repealedin Canada, hopefully the US follows suit when they get better governments.
