The "alt-right" is a disoriented and confused movement and now they are fighting over who's got the right to use the name and what 'real' alt-rightism is all about lol. There's the "milder" section who sound like the run of the mill anti-immigration right wing populist and then there's the white nationalist section who want a completely white ethnostate and think all non-whites should "go back home" from North America and Europe. Then there's probably a group who fall somewhere in between.
They all seem to support Trump (and other types of right wing populist politics) though and think he's a step towards the right direction. There's a lot more that bring these sections together like their hate for "leftists", "SJWs" and "liberals" and their talk about "mainstream media".
The thing is if we start normalizing the "milder" form of the alt-right (which is already happening) I don't think it's very far from when we start normalizing the more extreme form of the alt-right which is basically white nationalism/white supremacy. Richard Spencer coined the term "alt-right" because he knows calling yourself a national socialist won't attract as many people but when you listen to his talk white nationalism and social darwinism is basically what his politics is all about. "Alt-right" is the politically correct term for that.
Here's a hilarious interview with Spencer. Note he sounds almost exactly like the ABF racists (he talks about IQ, the "natural order", European superiority and genetics/blood) and he's a hardcore identiterian (identity politics has wrongly only been associated with the "left") who's identity mainly lies in his race as a white man of European heritage.
Lool according to him the ancient Egyptians were "white people" Typical of white supremacists he wants to take credit for all the great human achievements and civilizations (white nationalists are so insecure it's like they have no individual achievements of their own). I think the discussion about the race of the ancient Egyptians is quite uninteresting but it's hilarious how so many white supremacists can't deal with the fact that they weren't of white European descent. It's funny that North Africans and Middle Easterners become "white" when the've achieved something great and admirable.
