Because challenging racism and sexism should be a bipartisan effort. We should acknowledge right-wingers who stand against it. I will make a thread naming and shaming racists on the left.
Glenn Beck
Talk radio host.
Supports Black Lives Matter. Stood up against Trump, acknowledges America's racism problem. Was racist in the past. He never really talked about what made him change, he just said that despite disagreements "Barack Obama made him a better man".
Brian Mulroney
Former Prime Minister of Canada
Made a very strong stand against South African apartheid on the world stage. Got whole countries to do trade embargos on South Africa until apartheid ended.
Angela Merkel
Chancellor of Germany
Welcomes refugees during the refugee crisis. Refuses to bend to right-wing populists like other centre-right politicians in the Western World have done.
Jason Kenney
Canadian politician
Personal note, I think this guy is a total whack job, but I give credit where credit is due. He has no time for racism! He will call it out in ways that will make an SJW look like Hitler. He is probably the reason why Canada is the only country in the Western World where the centre-right has more support among people of colour than among the white population. And he worked his ass off, meeting with people, shaking hands, kissing babies, helping people with their problems, to make that happen. Has also started to take a strong stance against the sexist abuse of female politicians.
Lindsay Graham
Senator of South Carolina
Got the Confederate flag banned in South Carolina, and has been crusading against racism in the GOP. Refused to vote Republican in the 2016 US election. Says he's willing to go to war with Trump in the Senate. Should watch this guy in the coming years.
I'll try to think of more.
